This 1997 NAS Defender 90 Soft Top, badge #1801, is a North American Specification example that has spent its entire life in the West and South. With 67,500 miles and a clean Carfax, the fundamentals are all here: the 4.0L V8 paired with the ZF automatic transmission and Land Rover’s full-time four-wheel-drive system with selectable low range, plus factory air conditioning, a Puma bonnet, rear lamp guards, and a Bestop vinyl soft top, all finished in matte black over black diamond plating.

From there, it received a complete Kahn Design treatment. The exterior wears a full wide track body kit and rides on 20-inch forged Mondial wheels wrapped in 255/85/20 BF Goodrich KO tires. Kahn’s signature details are throughout: the X-Lander front grille with headlight surrounds, a front bumper with integrated lights and sump guard, a bonnet grille and side vents finished in stainless steel mesh, side steps, and the Crosshair exhaust system. Lighting has been brought fully up to date with LED throughout, including LED headlights, a LED third brake light, and Rigid light pods.

The cabin is finished to match. Diamond-stitched leather seats four, fronted by Kahn’s double three-spoke steering wheel. A highly amplified Focal sound system with subwoofers, run through an Alpine head unit, gives it presence to match its stance. The result is a clean, well-traveled NAS foundation reworked from end to end by one of the most recognized names in the business. A Kahn build on a clean NAS 90 doesn’t sit long, and this one won’t either.
